Biography of George Bernard Shaw

George Bernard Shaw was an Irish playwright, philosopher, and novelist, renowned as one of the greatest playwrights who wrote in English, second only to Shakespeare.

He was born on July 26, 1856, in Dublin, Ireland. Shaw's father suffered a business failure and turned to alcohol, while his mother, disillusioned with marriage, pursued a career in singing.
